Chris Haley

Pastor / Elder

Chris was born and raised near Morley in South Leeds, and now lives in Otley. He is married to Caroline and they have two boys, Calvin (7) & Lewis (6).

Chris trained for ministry with the North-West Partnership Training Course and the Christian Ministry Training Course. He spent four years working for Moorlands Church in Lancaster, before moving back to Yorkshire in 2013. Chris became Pastor of Bethel Church in 2016, after serving three years as Assistant Pastor. 

Before going into full-time ministry Chris trained as a secondary school French teacher. He enjoys languages, lighthearted tv detective series, and sci-fi/fantasy novels. His particular theological interests are expository preaching and biblical theology.

Chris has also served on the steering group of the Yorkshire Gospel Partnership.

Mike Dennis

Elder

Mike retired in 2012 from a lifetime in engineering and lives in Ilkley with his wife Judith. They have a married daughter, and three grandchildren who live in New York.

Born and raised in the South of England, Mike considers himself an honorary Yorkshireman, having been married to Bradford-born Judith for over 40 years and having lived in Yorkshire one third of his life.

Mike enjoys gardening, fell walking and all things aviation. He has been a follower of Jesus since his late teens.

Richard Hughes

Elder

An Otley resident for 10 years, Richard is a retired Bradford secondary headteacher, now self-employed as a consultant and company director.

Richard takes an interest in politics and recently became leader of Otley Town Council.

Richard is also a partner in The Yorkshire Wordwright, a graphic design and copywriting agency. In that capacity he is organising the Otley Coffee Festival and enjoying the excuse to spend lots of time in cafes. 

Richard is married to Sarah, a father of three and a very keen follower of Welsh rugby and football.
